On the way to the falls you will cross a really nice bridge. I was really surprised to see the river was not frozen all the way over.
While at my B&B I was told of Cameron Falls. A "15 minute" hike 60 km from Yellowknife. The road out there is the road that leads to a ice road, the one used in Ice Road Truckers.

The hike was definitely longer than 15 minutes, even in summer I'd say it was about a 30 minute hike. But can you beat this view?! We got there and watched a couple guys climb the face of the falls. You can even walk around the river some and get to the other side of the waterfall.
To say this was a winter wonderland would be an understatement. The snow is extremely dry you can't make a snowball. Everywhere you look snow covers the ground. The sun, when it does come up only barely rises above the horizon to shine light. It is so cold here they actually don't get much snow, but what they do get stays until May/June.
